The US has extended its deadline for Iran to agree to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with President Donald Trump saying talks with Iran are going "very well" despite the two sides appearing far apart.
The conflict has caused fuel shortages and fears of stagflation, with Brent crude rising to about $111 a barrel and global stocks experiencing their biggest monthly drop since 2022.
