Today, Trump was asked why Iranians would want him to follow up on his threat to destroy the country’s infrastructure. He reportedly said everyday citizens are "willing to suffer ... in order to have freedom."
President Donald Trump posted on social media: "We have rescued the seriously wounded, and really brave, F-15 Crew Member/Officer, from deep inside the mountains of Iran. The Iranian Military was looking hard, in big numbers, and getting close. He is a highly respected Colonel. This type of raid is seldom attempted because of the danger to “man and equipment.” It just doesn’t happen! The second raid came after the first one, where we rescued the pilot in broad daylight, also unusual, spending seven hours over Iran. An AMAZING show of bravery and talent by all! I will be having a News Conference, with the Military, at the Oval Office, on Monday, at 1:00 P.M. God Bless our great MILITARY WARRIORS! President DONALD J. TRUMP"
The Artemis II mission has now traveled farther into space from Earth than any previous human spaceflight, surpassing the distance set by Apollo 13 in 1970. The mission to the moon and back is expected to last 10 days, having launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on April 1. The Orion spacecraft is scheduled for a splashdown off the coast of California ten days after its launch. NASA reestablished communication with the Orion spacecraft after a 40-minute blackout as the Artemis II crew now begins their return journey back home to Earth.
