The US president’s latest threat to wipe out a “whole civilization” in Iran suggests he is getting “angrier and more desperate”. President Trump offered more details of the rescue in a social-media post Sunday morning. “We have rescued the seriously wounded, and really brave, F-15 Crew Member/Officer, from deep inside the mountains of Iran,” he wrote. “The Iranian Military was looking hard, in big numbers, and getting close….The second raid came after the first one, where we rescued the pilot in broad daylight, also unusual, spending seven hours over Iran.”
The United States has largely accomplished its military objectives in Iran, US Vice President JD Vance says. He added that the US believes it is still possible to receive a response to ceasefire proposals from Iran by Trump’s deadline tonight.
