Trump talks ballroom on Air Force One

President Trump showed reporters new renderings of his proposed East Wing ballroom aboard Air Force One on Sunday night, saying the project was "ahead of schedule and under budget."
 
"I think it'll be the finest ballroom of its kind anywhere in the world," he said. "It's become really beautiful."
 
President Trump said the ballroom — which he says will be funded by his own money and that of donors — would accommodate future presidential inaugurations and include bulletproof glass and "drone-proof roofs."
 
"The military is building a big complex under the ballroom, which has come out recently because of a stupid lawsuit that was filed," he added.
 
Preservationists have sued the White House — so far unsuccessfully — to block construction of the 90,000-square-foot ballroom, arguing it has evaded required studies.
 
The National Capital Planning Commission is set to vote on President Trump's plans in April.
 
"I'm so busy that I don't have time to do this," the president said. "I'm fighting wars and other things. But this is very important because this is going to be with us for a long time."
